Starting Sunday (March 28th) and going until Saturday (February 3rd) I will be writing and releasing to Pro Web Forums one tutorial a night. The tutorials this time around will be about PHP, though if the general response is positive I may do this again another week with a different subject (Ruby perhaps). The topics will be varied and hopefully in the end we'll have seven tutorials covering distinct subjects about the language.

Now I have a list of ideas lined up myself. But I'd like some feedback: what would you like to see a tutorial written about? Suggesting nobody asks for something far-fetched such as using PHP to access COM objects (I don't have experience in, nor any desire to learn about PHP's interaction with Windows-specific objects) I should be able to get requests included.

I'll be writing the tutorials the day/night of release, so if you have a suggestion feel free to throw it out there any time between now and Saturday morning. :)

This is brilliant Bobby, and very nice of you to share your time in helping others improve on the skills.

I for one will be giving you +1 rep per tutorial :smile-big:

Sorry about that guys, I had plans Sunday and Monday that I forgot about when setting this up. I'll still be going ahead with this, just starting this Sunday instead. :)

And Aaron- I'm looking to hit the ground running by tackling specific solutions to common problems. As such I'd prefer to not touch on the basics of PHP. In fact the examples I'll write will almost certainly be written as OOP- but I'll do my best to make sure the concepts and solutions are explained well enough that anyone can implement their own version going another route (such as procedural).

Sorry for the lack of response, I've been swamped lately. I'm more than willing to write up more tutorials. It's just a matter of figuring out subjects. I'm not a particular fan of generic introductory tutorials, as they're done over on countless web pages and the PHP documentation itself is one of the best to boot. Perhaps I'll write up a CAPTCHA class tutorial and/or a tutorial on working with XML (maybe using Last.FM's user feeds as the example). If you have specific ideas shoot them my way though.
